Mountain bikers seem to get a bad name just because our passtime is seen as an adrenaline sport, amazingly enough, we adhere to a strict CODE OF CONDUCT that is addressed too at all times. This is why we can get a bit annoyed when WE don't stray off into the bushes with dogs disturbing wildlife, leave litter, and are suprisingly quite yet still somehow manage to get a bad reputation.

The CODE OF CONDUCT consists of:

• Fasten all gates.
• Slow down and stop for horses.
• Slow down and ensure that walkers are aware before passing.
• Keep to rights of way across farmland.
• Use gates and styles to cross fences, hedges and walls.
• Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone.
• Take our litter home.
• Protect wildlife, plants and trees.
• Take special care on country roads.
• Make no unnecessary or sudden noise as to frighten animals or pedestrians.
